Galarneau, a 27-year-old Canadian, enters off a hard-court swing with a recent quarterfinal run at the Morelia Challenger before a three-set loss to Luka Pavlovic last week, holding limited recent clay exposure amid a 2026 YTD record near even on non-clay surfaces. The 20-year-old French prospect Debru, with a career-high of 233 last year, brings fresher clay rust from early-2026 South American Challengers like Piracicaba and Punta del Este. No reported injuries or withdrawals; expect a tight battle influenced by clay adaptation, stamina in potential three-setter, and Houston's variable spring weather.
