This market will resolve to "Yes" if is officially announced that OpenAI and Anthropic have agreed to merge by Dec 31, 2023, 11:59 PM ET. The announcement must indicate that the two organizations have agreed to combine their operations. This could be a legal merger where they form one entity, a joint venture, or an acquisition of one by the other. If no such announcement is made by Dec 31, the market will resolve to "No". Note that an announcement before the end date of a OpenAI/Anthropic merger will suffice to resolve this market to "Yes" regardless of if or when the merger actually occurs. The resolution source will be official statements from OpenAI and/or Anthropic, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
