FlightAware data shows only 82 U.S. flight cancellations so far on March 28, far below the 500 threshold, reflecting trader consensus at 86.5% for "No" amid limited disruptions. Localized issues like a Potomac TRACON evacuation late March 27 due to a strong odor caused temporary ground stops at DCA, IAD, and BWI, but operations resumed quickly without nationwide ripple effects. FAA reports minor ground delays at LGA from unspecified causes and volume-driven departure delays at Florida airports like FLL and MCO, but no thunderstorms or high winds like mid-March storms that canceled thousands. Ongoing partial DHS funding lapse strains TSA staffing and FAA controller shortages (3,800 vacant), yet emergency payments to 50,000 airport workers have mitigated broader chaos, keeping totals low.
