Mojtaba Khamenei, named Iran's Supreme Leader after his father Ali Khamenei's killing in early March US-Israeli strikes, has made no public appearances nearly a month later, fueling rumors of injury, evacuation to Russia, or flight amid escalating war. Russia's ambassador to Tehran confirmed on March 31 he remains in Iran, avoiding visibility "for understandable reasons" like security threats, while Iranian officials assert he is healthy and directing policy. Recent written statements attributed to him—warning of new fronts including Strait of Hormuz closure, praising Hezbollah, and vowing resistance against US-Israel—signal continuity under IRGC dominance, though lack of visuals sustains trader uncertainty on potential defection before market resolution.
