Trader consensus on Polymarket prices a 48.1% implied probability for Eurozone annual HICP inflation exceeding 3.1% in 2026, with 22.1% for 2.8–3.0%, reflecting heightened risks from recent energy price surges amid Middle East tensions, including the Iran conflict. March 2026 flash HICP inflation accelerated to 2.5% year-over-year from February's 1.9%, driven by oil and gas wholesale increases, prompting the ECB's March staff projections to revise 2026 headline inflation to 2.6% average, up from 1.9%. Core inflation remains subdued, but traders anticipate upside persistence, diverging from ECB guidance. Upcoming April HICP flash (end-April) and ECB policy meeting (early May) could refine expectations.
