In Response to Trader Inquiry: The all items index increase for the 12 month period reported by the U.S. Bureau of labor statistics will be used, namely the unadjusted value published in their report. 

This is a market on a year-to-year inflation, as measured by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (CPI-U), for the 12 months ending December 2021.

The inflation is measured by a change in Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U, for all items) on a seasonally adjusted basis, reported by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if the index increased by 7.0 percent or more from December 2020 to December 2021 and "No" otherwise.

The resolution source for this market will be the BLS December 2021 Consumer Price Index report (https://www.bls.gov/bls/news-release/cpi.htm), currently scheduled for release on January 12 2022, 8:30 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data. 

Note that this market refers to the all items index increase for the 12 month period.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measure of the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a market basket of consumer goods and services.

Note that the resolution source for this market will be the official monthly BLS CPI news release which reports inflation to only one decimal point (e.g. 5.8%, 6.9%, etc). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.

The resolution source will be checked on January 12 2022, 1 PM ET.
