Ionescu, the 21-year-old Romanian shakehand player ranked around No. 45 in senior standings, has shown rising promise in European circuits and WTT feeders but lacks head-to-head experience against elite Chinese attackers like Wang, whose explosive forehand and power game give clear stylistic edges in this first meeting. No injury concerns reported for either, with group stage advancement on the line alongside Finn Luu.
