Lebrun (WR28 for Poret contrast) advanced comfortably with straight-set 3-0 victories over Siu Hang Lam and Kanak Jha, but his recent early exit to Patrick Franziska in Chongqing tempers expectations despite superior ranking and experience. As right-handed shakehand attackers familiar with each other's styles from national circuits, the contest balances Lebrun's consistency against Poret's hot streak; pre-match fitness updates or table draw could shift sentiment in this closely contested affair.
