Ionescu, holding ITTF world ranking #45 just behind Luu's #41, boasts steadier recent singles results like a 3-2 win over Harmeet Desai at WTT Star Contender Chennai and a national singles title at the Romanian Championships on March 22. No head-to-head history exists, but stylistic matchup favors Ionescu's shakehand attack amid Luu's slump, though an upset remains possible if Luu regains momentum in this round-robin group with Wang Chuqin.
