Both players advanced in straight sets on March 31—Wendelken edging qualifier Justin Boulais 7-5 7-5 after a grueling match, and Shick dispatching qualifier Ji Sung Nam 6-4 6-2—but the Briton's stronger 2026 record of 20-8 overall outshines Shick's limited Challenger depth this year. No head-to-head exists, leaving room for Shick's baseline resilience, though Wendelken's hard court form dominates sentiment.
