Official National Weather Service observations recorded a daily maximum of 74°F in Denver on September 20, 2026—four degrees below the 1991–2020 normal—driving the near-certain market consensus on the 74–75°F bin. This outcome aligns with post-frontal cooling and limited insolation under partly cloudy conditions, as confirmed in the preliminary local climatological data released that evening. Traders assign negligible probability to adjacent ranges because verified station readings leave little room for revision, though rare post-analysis adjustments to the official high or use of a non-standard observing site could theoretically shift resolution. The market’s skin-in-the-game pricing reflects rapid incorporation of authoritative meteorological data once the observation window closed.
