This market will resolve to "Yes" if any U.S. court issues an order that blocks, restrains, or otherwise prohibits the federal deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles by June 13, 2025, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

Any official court action that temporarily halts, limits, or permanently blocks the implementation of the National Guard deployment will qualify, including preliminary injunctions, temporary restraining orders, or final rulings.

The deployment must be blocked specifically on the basis of its federalization or use in response to the ongoing unrest in Los Angeles. Court orders that merely address related matters (e.g., conduct of individual troops or general use-of-force guidelines) without restricting the deployment itself will not qualify.

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from U.S. courts, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

Active-duty U.S. military troops refers to any active-component U.S. military personnel and reserve-component personnel when ordered to active duty, excluding all National Guard personnel. National Guard personnel will not qualify, even if federalized under Title 10. Military police serving on active duty in the U.S. military will qualify.

Deployed to Minnesota refers to the deployment, ordering, or authorization of U.S. troops to operationally execute a domestic mission in Minnesota. Pre-positioning, readying, or otherwise preparing troops for action in Minnesota, without deployment to execute a domestic mission, will not count. 

Any domestic mission refers to a deployment to or in the state of Minnesota to carry out a domestic mission outside of the routine scope of regular military operations, including but not limited to law enforcement, security support, or the protection of federal property. Routine military operations (e.g., training exercises, transit through Minnesota, or regular military staffing in Minnesota) will not qualify. A deployment or mobilization of troops already stationed in Minnesota for a qualifying purpose will qualify.

An official announcement from the US military or the federal government, within this market’s timeframe, of a qualifying deployment will be sufficient to resolve this market, regardless of when the deployment is scheduled to take place or any legal challenges it may face. This includes announcements stating that troops are authorized or ordered to execute a mission in Minnesota. 

Announcements that do not indicate granted mission execution authorization (e.g., prepositioning or preparation announcements) will not qualify. Announcements of conditional authorization for the deployment of troops that are contingent on future events, requests, or approvals, and that do not grant immediate authorization to execute a mission in Minnesota, will not qualify.

Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

A qualifying action must be aimed at restricting or banning entry into the United States for nationals of a particular country or countries. Blanket actions to restrict entry for individuals holding certain visa classes, or other generalized entry restrictions, which do not target a specific country or countries, will not count.

Additional country refers to any country not subject to a full or partial suspension of entry as of the December 16 proclamation.

Any qualifying government action taken within this market’s timeframe will qualify for a "Yes" resolution, regardless of when the policy takes effect. However, announcements of future or planned bans which are not made official through government action will not qualify.

Any action meeting these criteria will count, even if its implementation is immediately halted or delayed by judicial or other actions.

For purposes of this market, the government prevails if the Supreme Court rules on the merits that the tariffs are authorized under IEEPA, or otherwise reverses or vacates the Federal Circuit’s holding that they are unauthorized under IEEPA, regardless of whether the Court remands for further proceedings on issues such as remedy or scope of relief. The government does not prevail if the Supreme Court affirms the Federal Circuit’s decision that the tariffs are unauthorized by IEEPA, even if the Court modifies or vacates portions of the judgment relating only to remedy or injunctive relief.
