The Chicago Cubs enter their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them to 29-25 overall and third in the NL Central. Pittsburgh, at 28-26 and fifth in the division, snapped the skid with a 2-1 win on May 25 at PNC Park behind Henry Davis’s go-ahead homer and strong bullpen work. Both clubs sit near .500 with similar run differentials, making recent form and home-field advantage at PNC Park the primary variables. The Pirates have taken two of the first three meetings this season, while the Cubs’ road struggles and lack of offensive production in recent contests continue to shape trader views on series outcomes and individual game results.
