Trader consensus heavily favors fewer than 3.0 million TSA checkpoint screenings on April 3 at 67.2% implied probability, driven by recent daily volumes falling short of spring break projections amid ongoing disruptions. Official TSA data logged 2.71 million travelers on April 2 (Tuesday) and 2.36 million on April 1 (Monday), reflecting 10-12% year-over-year declines despite forecasts for record 2.8 million daily averages through April. Government shutdown fallout has exacerbated TSA staffing shortages, sparking widespread reports of multi-hour security lines and travel deterrence, tempering momentum even as hubs like Atlanta brace for peak Thursday volumes around 115,000 locally. A modest 6.7% bets on 3.0-3.2 million signal potential rebound bets, with official April 3 figures expected this morning to resolve the market.
