Trader consensus assigns near-certainty to fewer than 6,000 US flight delays on March 29, driven by FlightAware's final data reporting total delays within, into, or out of the United States well below that threshold—far lower than mid-March storms that exceeded 8,000 delays and 4,000 cancellations. Despite ongoing TSA staffing shortages from the DHS shutdown and FAA ground stops at United and American hubs due to odor evacuations causing hundreds of disruptions, no widespread weather or air traffic control issues materialized. Chicago O'Hare's new FAA capacity cap, effective March 29, likely curbed congestion. Revision to higher brackets would require rare data corrections from official sources like FlightAware or BTS preliminary reports.
