Trader consensus heavily favors BTS's "Arirang" first-week album sales landing under 3 million copies at 98% implied probability, driven by the group's ongoing military enlistment hiatus limiting promotional firepower and preorder momentum—unlike past blockbusters like Map of the Soul: 7's 4 million-plus debut. Recent Circle Chart data shows minimal early shipments under 500,000 units, aligning with subdued K-pop market trends amid economic pressures on physical sales. Critical reception to the folk-inspired concept has been lukewarm, with no viral singles boosting hype. An upset would require a surprise global streaming surge or last-minute ARMY mobilization pushing past 3 million, but historical precedents for non-flagship releases make this improbable.
