Mumbai Indians lead trader consensus at 31% implied probability for IPL 2026 champion after their commanding six-wicket win chasing 221 against Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener on March 29, bolstering sentiment around their elite pace attack led by Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult, alongside retained stars Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and captain Hardik Pandya's all-round depth. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, at 13.5% as defending champions, benefit from Virat Kohli's form and batting firepower but face early bowling concerns with Josh Hazlewood sidelined by hamstring issues. Punjab Kings' 12.5% reflects their balanced squad post-2025 runners-up finish, anchored by captain Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal's spin mastery, and Arshdeep Singh's new-ball threat under coach Ricky Ponting, while Chennai Super Kings' 10.5% stems from MS Dhoni's experience amid a youth-focused rebuild after trading Ravindra Jadeja.
