Beinir Johannesen's commanding 89% implied probability stems from his re-election as Løgmaður on May 16 following the Faroe Islands parliamentary election on April 29, where his Union Party (Sambandsflokkurin) won the most seats at nine, enabling a stable coalition with the People's Party (Fólkaflokkurin), Centre Party (Miðflokkurin), and Progress Party (Framsóknarflokkurin) for a majority in the 33-seat Løgting. This outcome reflects successful post-election coalition negotiations, sidelining challengers like Aksel V. Johannesen of the Social Democrats (Javnaðarflokkurin), whose seven seats fell short of alternatives. Trader consensus anticipates continuity absent no-confidence votes, scandals, or snap elections, with other candidates' low odds tied to their parties' diminished leverage in talks.
