Entering the third round of the Texas Children's Houston Open at Memorial Park Golf Course, trader consensus reflects a massive logjam atop the leaderboard, with William Mouw, John Parry, Matthieu Pavon, Brice Garnett, Luke Clanton, Lee Hodges, Takumi Kanaya, Emiliano Grillo, and Jeffrey Kang tightly bunched within one stroke after career-low opening rounds fueled by hot putters and favorable scoring conditions. This young, unproven pack lacks PGA Tour winners in contention, amplifying uncertainty despite strong ball-striking stats like strokes gained: approach for Mouw and Pavon; no dominant course horse emerges amid variable winds and the par-70 layout's birdie opportunities. Lower probabilities for veterans like Min Woo Lee and Jason Day trail further back, underscoring the wisdom of crowds pricing an open weekend race.
