Mercedes' superior adaptation to 2026's overhauled hybrid regulations and active aero has propelled George Russell and Kimi Antonelli to the top of trader consensus for the Drivers' Championship, with Russell at 46.5% implied probability reflecting his experience and consistent podiums, while Antonelli's surge to 31.8% stems from his back-to-back victories, including pole and win at Suzuka last weekend to seize the standings lead at 72 points over Russell's 63. The duo's 1-2 in early Grands Prix underscores Mercedes' early Constructors' edge, sidelining rivals like Charles Leclerc (5.3%, third in standings) amid Ferrari's struggles, Red Bull's Verstappen (2.1%) facing reliability woes, and McLaren's Norris/Piastri (1.9%/3.8%) lacking pace. No major injuries reported, but intra-team rivalry looms as a key variable.
