Pavel Kotov advanced past wildcard Yi Zhou in the ATP Challenger Busan round of 32 on hard courts, winning 6-1, 2-0 via retirement after dominating the first set, reflecting trader consensus favoring the qualifier despite his No. 262 ranking versus Zhou's No. 220. Kotov entered with a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their prior hard-court clash, bolstered by strong qualifying wins over Harry Wendelken and Fajing Sun amid the Asian swing. Zhou showed inconsistent Challenger form recently, while Kotov demonstrated resilience; no pre-match injuries were reported, though Zhou's abrupt retirement suggests an in-match issue. Kotov fell to Leandro Riedi in the next round, underscoring the tournament's competitiveness.
