This market will resolve according to how much "Obsession" Weekend Box Office will gross domestically on its fifth weekend. The "Daily Box Office Performance" figures found on the “Box Office” tab on this movie's The Numbers (https://www.the-numbers.com/) page will be used to resolve this market once the values for the 3-day weekend (June 12 - June 14) are final (i.e., not studio estimates). If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Please note, this market will resolve according to the The Numbers figures provided under Weekend Box Office Performance for the 3-day weekend (which typically includes Thursday's previews), regardless of whether domestic refers to only the USA, or to USA and Canada, etc. If there is ambiguity as to whether the resolution source's figures are final, this market will remain open until both https://www.boxofficemojo.com/ and https://www.the-numbers.com/ have confirmed their finalized figures. If there is no final data available by June 21, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen. The film's extraordinary legs and audience-driven momentum have locked in market certainty for a fifth-weekend gross above $19 million. After opening at $17.2 million in mid-May, the low-budget Curry Barker-directed horror romance defied genre norms by posting sharp gains in its second and third frames, fueled by strong word-of-mouth, packed weekday showings, and minimal competition that allowed it to retain screens and dominate daily charts. Its consistent outperformance of the debut through the fourth weekend—reaching a $188 million domestic cume—signaled durable appeal that traders viewed as nearly impossible to derail by week five. While an extreme last-minute drop from poor weather, sudden screen losses, or tracking misreads could theoretically produce an upset, the picture’s proven hold pattern and cultural staying power have rendered such scenarios negligible in trader consensus.
