Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a minimum temperature of 58–60°F for New York City on September 22, 2026, driven by persistent northeasterly flow, mostly cloudy skies, and light showers that limit daytime heating while preventing significant overnight radiative cooling. This aligns with climatological norms near 59°F for the date and explains the 91.5% market-implied probability for the 60–61°F bin. A realistic challenge would require an unexpected southward shift in the jet stream or clearer skies allowing greater heat loss, though current steering patterns and high pressure to the north make such deviations unlikely before resolution.
