AJ Dybantsa's commanding 25.5 points per game average over 35 starts as a BYU freshman has locked in trader consensus for him as the NCAAM scoring leader, far ahead of Jordan Riley's 23.6 PPG in 30 games for East Carolina and others like P.J. Haggerty at 23.4. His efficiency (51.0 FG%) and recent hot streak—29.6 PPG over the last five outings—built an insurmountable total of 894 points, even after BYU's first-round NCAA Tournament upset loss to Texas. With the regular season and tournament complete, no remaining games exist for challengers to close the gap; only an unlikely official stat correction or eligibility ruling could shift the outcome.
