Jeremy Fears Jr. of Michigan State holds a commanding lead in NCAA men's basketball assists per game at 9.4 APG across 35 games, driving his 98.3% implied probability as the season-long leader and propelling trader consensus with real-money stakes. His elite point guard playmaking, highlighted by a Michigan State-record 16 assists in an NCAA Tournament game against Louisville and a 53.1% assist rate per KenPom, has widened the gap over Purdue's Braden Smith (8.8 APG) and Central Connecticut's Jay Rodgers (6.9 APG). Recent Wooden All-America recognition cements his dominance. Challenges would require rare stat corrections, qualification disputes over minimum games, or retroactive eligibility issues, though his margin in both per-game and total assists appears insurmountable post-Final Four.
