Trader consensus strongly favors Janez Janša of the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) as next prime minister at 82%, driven by a right-wing bloc's April 10 election of Resni.ca leader Zoran Stevanović as parliament speaker with 48 votes—exactly a slim majority threshold in the 90-seat National Assembly. Post-March 22 elections, incumbent Robert Golob's Freedom Movement holds 29 seats but faces coalition deadlock after rejections from NSi (Jernej Vrtovec), Democrats (Anže Logar), and Resni.ca over ideological divides, particularly inclusion of the Left. SDS (28 seats) plus NSi/SLS-FOKUS (9), Democrats (6), and Resni.ca (5) aligns at 48 seats, positioning Janša for a presidential nomination and confidence vote, though talks remain fluid amid snap election risks.
