Shohei Ohtani's towering 40.5% implied probability as the 2026 NL MVP frontrunner reflects his singular two-way brilliance—hitting and pitching at elite levels—bolstered by the Dodgers' perennial contender status after their 2024 World Series win. Juan Soto's sharp rise to 14% follows his record-shattering 15-year, $765 million Mets contract, injecting superstar power into a revamped lineup and sparking trader optimism for a monster debut season. Fernando Tatis Jr. (10.5%) and Ronald Acuña Jr. (10%) hold firm on breakout potential and injury recoveries, while Francisco Lindor and Elly De La Cruz edge in at 6% each amid consistent production and raw athleticism; Bryce Harper and Mookie Betts trail slightly due to age and versatility questions, with markets eyeing health and early-2026 WAR accumulation as pivotal.
