Cloud9 pulled off a 2-0 upset over MIBR in their VCT Americas Stage 1 Group Alpha BO3 on April 26, winning tight maps on Breeze (14-12) and Split (14-12) despite pre-match odds favoring MIBR at 1.4x, driven by aspas' 46-kill standout and MIBR's prior 2-0 group win over LOUD. MIBR's stacked 2026 roster—aspas, zekken, Verno (IGL), tex, Mazino—entered with a 3-2 head-to-head edge and +15 map differential (now 2-1 overall), while Cloud9 (1-2, Zellsis IGL, Xeppaa, v1c, penny, OXY) rebounded from a LOUD loss via penny's MVP performance (45 kills, 158 ADR). Top-4 playoff spots remain contested in the single round-robin, with recent patches emphasizing controller utility on these maps.
