This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Don Mattingly leads trader consensus at 42.5% implied probability for the Phillies' next manager after serving as interim following Rob Thomson's April 28 firing amid a 9-19 start. The team's improved form under Mattingly, including an 8-1 stretch that boosted playoff positioning, strengthens his position as a steady internal option with prior MLB managerial experience. Alex Cora sits at 24.8% due to his championship background and ties to president Dave Dombrowski, though he declined an immediate offer to take family time. Other candidates like Omar López, Daniel Descalso, and Kai Correa reflect internal coaching staff considerations, while external names such as Carlos Beltrán and Will Venable draw from broader MLB managerial experience amid ongoing front-office evaluation of long-term fits.
