Both the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays enter their upcoming series mired in slow starts, with records hovering near 22-27 or 22-28 and sitting near the bottom of their respective divisions. Toronto’s pitching depth faces notable strain from multiple injuries, including José Berríos dealing with an elbow issue that could sideline him further, Shane Bieber progressing through rehab, and several others on the injured list that have depleted the rotation and bullpen options. Miami has its own roster challenges, such as Robby Snelling on the IL with a UCL sprain, though the Marlins’ recent form shows some stability in the lineup. Home-field advantage at Rogers Centre, combined with Toronto’s need to build momentum amid a tough early schedule, shapes the matchup dynamics, while both clubs monitor day-to-day health reports and bullpen usage heading into the series.
