Aisha Wahab secured first place in California's June 2, 2026, top-two primary for the 14th Congressional District with 38.5% of the vote, advancing alongside Melissa Hernandez at 17.1%. State Senator Wahab benefited from the California Democratic Party endorsement and strong name recognition in the East Bay district vacated by Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial bid. Republican candidates Wendy Huang and Dena Maldonado trailed in the single digits, consistent with the district's Democratic lean. Trader consensus on primary winners reflects these certified results and Wahab's fundraising and organizational edge. Attention now shifts to the separate June 16 special primary to fill the remainder of the term, where similar candidate fields and party dynamics could influence short-term positioning ahead of the August general.
