This market will resolve according to which film earns the highest domestic box office gross for the weekend of September 25 - 27, 2026. The "Daily Box Office Performance" figures found on the "Box Office" tab on The Numbers (https://www.the-numbers.com/) will be used to resolve this market once the values for the 3-day weekend are final (i.e., not studio estimates). If two or more films are tied for the highest weekend gross, this market will resolve in favor of the film whose listed title comes first alphabetically. If none of the listed films earns the highest domestic weekend gross, this market will resolve to "Other". Please note, this market will resolve according to the The Numbers figures provided under Weekend Box Office Performance for the 3-day weekend (which typically includes Thursday's previews), regardless of whether domestic refers to only the USA, or to USA and Canada, etc. If there is ambiguity as to whether the resolution source's figures are final, this market will remain open until both https://www.boxofficemojo.com/ and https://www.the-numbers.com/ have confirmed their finalized figures. If there is no final data available by October 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen.Avengers: Endgame Encore leads market-implied odds for the top box office spot due to robust presales and tracking estimates of $25–28 million for its September 25–27 re-release window, fueled by nostalgia ahead of Avengers: Doomsday. This positions the Marvel title well ahead of Resident Evil’s projected $24–26 million second-weekend drop after its franchise-best $60 million debut. New wide releases including Brad Pitt’s Heart of the Beast, Robert Pattinson’s Primetime, and Forgotten Island are each tracking in the $15–20 million range and will likely compete for lower chart positions. Strong advance ticket data and fan-driven interest have solidified trader consensus around the re-release as the weekend’s dominant performer.
