Ekaterina Alexandrova, seeded No. 8 and ranked No. 13 with a stellar Porsche Tennis Grand Prix record including a 2025 semifinal run, meets qualifier Gabriela Knutson (No. 224) in the Stuttgart indoor clay round of 32. Alexandrova's 5-9 2026 form has been shaky, including a recent Linz quarterfinal loss, but the quicker surface rewards her aggressive first-strike tennis and strong hold percentages here. Knutson earned her spot via straight-sets qualifying wins over Vera Zvonareva and Carole Monnet, boosting her 8-9 season record, yet faces a debut main-draw test against superior ranking and experience in their first head-to-head. No reported injuries; trader consensus reflects Alexandrova's stylistic edge despite her slump.
