In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by NCAA rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the coach whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 NCAA Men’s Basketball season is cancelled, postponed after April 30, 2026 ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NCAA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trader consensus on the Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year award clusters tightly around Mark Byington (43.5%), Tom Izzo (42.5%), and Travis Steele (42.0%), driven by semifinalist nods announced March 20 highlighting their overachievement: Byington's Vanderbilt Commodores delivering back-to-back 20-win SEC seasons in a rebuilding effort, Izzo guiding Michigan State to its 28th straight NCAA Tournament amid Big Ten parity, and Steele engineering Miami (OH)'s historic MAC championship and second-round March Madness exit versus Tennessee. Dick Vitale's recent endorsement of Steele as national coach of the year sustains his edge, while TJ Otzelberger's Iowa State Big 12 surge and Bucky McMillan's Texas A&M contract extension trail at 34.5% and 32.5%, underscoring the competitive field of turnaround specialists as Elite Eight unfolds.
