This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 MLS Defender of the Year award. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLS rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLS season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026 ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Soccer; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trader consensus reflects a fiercely competitive 2026 MLS Defender of the Year race, with Andrew Privett, Michael Boxall, Miguel Tapias, Gabriele Corbo, and Yeimar Gómez Andrade clustered around 44% implied probabilities amid early-season parity. Minnesota United's veteran center-back duo of Boxall—fresh off a contract extension—and Tapias has anchored a stingy backline, conceding few goals in recent matches, while Charlotte FC's Privett has started strongly with consistent minutes and clearances in his first two appearances, including a recent draw versus St. Louis CITY SC. Trades like Tomás Avilés' January loan to CF Montréal from Inter Miami bolster contenders, and Seattle's Yeimar recovered from a mid-March hamstring tweak to solidify their defense. No standout has emerged with dominant clean sheets or table-leading teams yet, keeping the market tightly bunched.
