Trader consensus heavily favors Merab Dvalishvili (80.5%) as Petr Yan's next opponent, driven by Yan's recent confirmation that the UFC guaranteed the former champion an immediate trilogy bout after their 1-1 series—Merab's 2023 decision win followed by Yan's unanimous decision title reclamation at UFC 323 in December 2025. Both fighters have publicly committed to waiting for each other, with Yan targeting a summer 2026 return post-January back surgery and recent training footage showing progress toward a potential mid-August numbered card. Sean O’Malley (15.3%) trails as a stylistic rematch Yan has pitched for the high-profile UFC White House event, amid his recovery timeline aligning with June-August slots, while rising contender Umar Nurmagomedov (5.4%) reflects broader title picture speculation.
