This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Dombrowski’s longstanding professional relationship with Alex Cora, forged during their 2018 World Series run with the Red Sox, drives Cora’s leading position in the market after the Phillies offered him the job in April following Rob Thomson’s dismissal. Cora declined to prioritize family time but remains the clear frontrunner for 2027 barring an unlikely deep playoff run by interim manager Don Mattingly. Recent comments from Dombrowski confirm the club will delay any decision until the season ends, leaving Mattingly and a broad field of other experienced candidates—including Bruce Bochy and several internal or external options—trailing as the market reflects trader consensus on a likely Cora reunion once his Red Sox contract obligations ease.
