No. 12 seed Karen Khachanov enters as the higher-ranked contender at No. 15 against No. 27 Arthur Rinderknech in the Monte-Carlo Masters Round of 64 on clay, where his baseline power and prior deep runs on the surface give him an edge in extended rallies. Rinderknech, a Frenchman buoyed by home-crowd support near the French Riviera, holds a 1-0 head-to-head advantage from their lone prior meeting and showed serve firepower in recent hard-court showings like downing Jack Draper in Dubai before a Miami first-round exit. Both arrive fresh off early Miami losses with no reported injuries, setting up a competitive opener amid the European clay swing; trader consensus weighs Khachanov's seeding and consistency higher, though Rinderknech's upset potential looms via crowd momentum and stylistic matchup.
