Recent TSA checkpoint passenger volumes through March 30, 2026, averaged around 2.5 million daily amid spring break peaks, but dipped below 2.4 million on select weekdays like March 24 (2.19 million), positioning under 2.4 million as the trader-favored outcome at 72% implied probability for April 1. Year-over-year declines of 9-12% reflect suppressed demand from prolonged DHS partial shutdown, which spurred 40-50% TSA officer absenteeism, hours-long security lines, and surveys indicating one-third of Americans delaying trips. With pay promised to TSA workers and lines easing late March, post-spring break lull before Easter weekend (April 5) travel supports expectations of subdued Tuesday throughput, though weather or cancellations could influence final figures reported by TSA.
