Trader consensus heavily favors under 3 million first-week sales for BTS's 'Arirang' at 96% implied probability, driven primarily by the group's ongoing military enlistment hiatus, which has stalled major comebacks since 2022's Proof album. Without HYBE's signature preorder blitz—key to past mega-hits like Map of the Soul: 7's 4.02 million debut—sales momentum lacks fuel, as ARMY stockpiles await a full reunion projected for 2025. Cultural resonance of the folk-inspired 'Arirang' title offers niche appeal but can't replicate blockbuster K-pop hype sans promotions. An upset to 3m+ would require an unprecedented stealth drop with viral tie-ins, though zero official announcements make this improbable amid enlistment schedules.
