Slovenian qualifier Bor Artnak (ATP 479) meets Mexican wild card Alan Magadan (ATP 707) in the Mexico City Challenger first-round clash on outdoor clay, where high altitude may favor aggressive baseline play. Artnak carries momentum from back-to-back qualifying triumphs over the past 48 hours—straight-sets wins against Guillaume Dalmasso (6-3, 6-3) and Patrick Zahraj (7-5, 6-4)—highlighting his adaptation to the surface. Magadan, leveraging home-crowd support, owns a 1-0 head-to-head edge via a close 6-4, 7-6 victory in November 2024 but enters off a round-of-16 defeat to Matias Soto in San Luis Potosi last week. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals; next for winner is Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez.
