Mercedes' dominant start to the 2026 season under new power unit regulations has positioned George Russell and Kimi Antonelli as overwhelming trader favorites for the Drivers' Championship, with the teammates securing 1-2 finishes at the Australian and Chinese Grands Prix before Antonelli's pole-to-win at Suzuka extended his standings lead to 72 points over Russell's 63. Russell's pre-season edge as the experienced leader persists in market pricing despite the intra-team rivalry, reflecting his consistency and podium reliability across the opening three rounds. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc trails in third at 49 points with consistent podiums, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen languishes ninth on 12 points amid DNFs, poor race pace, and hints of an early F1 exit, underscoring the squad's struggles.
