Carlos Alcaraz's straight-sets semifinal victory over Alexander Zverev followed by his four-set comeback win against 10-time champion Novak Djokovic (2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5) in the final cemented his status as the 2026 Australian Open men's singles champion, completing the career Grand Slam as the youngest man to do so at age 22. As the top seed and world No. 1 on hard courts, Alcaraz dominated the draw with superior pace, drop shots, and resilience, driving Polymarket traders to full consensus at 100% implied probability post-official result announcement on February 1. Grigor Dimitrov exited early with a first-round loss to Tomas Machac. No developments in the past 60 days alter the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup outcome, though rare disputes over eligibility or scoring could theoretically prompt review.
