Ty France follows closely at 31% after topping AL first basemen in fielding percentage (.996) and defensive runs saved (+9) last year, showcasing marked improvement at the position. Bobby Witt Jr. sits at 30.5%, leveraging his repeat Gold Glove at shortstop and prior Platinum Glove amid standout World Baseball Classic defense earlier this month. With the 2026 season just past opening weekend and no significant injuries or roster shifts in the last 48 hours, the competitive field reflects carryover defensive pedigrees from 2025, including Steven Kwan's consistent outfield range and Ceddanne Rafaela's athleticism, as traders weigh full-season potential through DRS, UZR, and Gold Glove voting precedents.
