Trader consensus overwhelmingly favors fewer than 2.6 million TSA checkpoint passengers on April 5, reflecting the sharp drop in air travel volumes typical on Easter Sunday, which fell on that date in 2026. Recent TSA data shows spring break peaks earlier, with 2.71 million screened on April 2 before declining, consistent with holiday weekend patterns where commercial flights and leisure travel subside amid family gatherings and reported disruptions like 339 cancellations nationwide. Daily throughputs have averaged below 2.6 million outside midweek surges, down 8-10% year-over-year per tracking sites. Official TSA figures, updated weekdays by 9 a.m., are awaited for resolution, but a surge would require anomalous post-holiday travel contradicting historical Easter dips.
