Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects skepticism toward a purported new Stranger Things episode following Season 5's polarizing finale rollout in late 2025, with low implied probabilities for dates like December 31 (around 10%) or January 31 (2%) stemming from the debunked "Conformity Gate" fan theory. That viral hoax—fueled by a Netflix app glitch falsely labeling content as "new"—prompted over $14 million in bets but was swiftly refuted by Netflix and the Duffer Brothers in early January 2026, confirming no secret episodes or extensions to the main series. No live-action episodes have materialized since, amid the franchise's pivot to a complete series 4K Blu-ray boxset (releasing July 2026) and an animated spin-off, Tales From '85, slated for theatrical debut later this year; watch for any unannounced digital drops, though renewal patterns suggest the core narrative arc is complete.

For the purposes of this market, an “episode” must be listed as a distinct episode of Stranger Things on Netflix and be playable for general subscribers in the United States. A behind-the-scenes featurette, documentary, trailer, recap, cast interview, deleted scenes compilation, or other bonus content will not count unless it is clearly presented by Netflix as an official numbered or titled episode of the series.
If Netflix releases an alternate cut, extended cut, or “secret” version of an already-released episode, it will not count unless it is listed as a separate episode entry on Netflix.
The primary resolution source for this market will be the Stranger Things title page on Netflix (episode list and availability), however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
