Mercedes' overwhelming early-season dominance in the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship, with 1-2 finishes across the Australian, Chinese, and Japanese Grands Prix, has positioned George Russell (44.5%) and teammate Kimi Antonelli (34.3%) as the clear trader consensus favorites for the Drivers' title. Antonelli seized the championship lead with his second victory at Suzuka on March 29, passing Russell after a safety car misfortune for the veteran, building a nine-point edge at 72-63 while securing Mercedes the constructors' lead. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc (5.7%) trails in third at 49 points amid solid but inconsistent podiums, but Red Bull and McLaren struggle with the new active aero regulations and heavier cars, relegating Verstappen and Norris to low probabilities below 3% as they criticize the uncompetitive machinery. Russell's experience edges trader sentiment despite Antonelli's rookie surge.
