Tampa Bay's rotation and bullpen are depleted, with Ryan Pepiot (hip, 60-day IL) progressing in rehab, Joe Boyle (right elbow strain, 15-day IL), and relievers like Garrett Cleavinger (calf) and Michael Grove sidelined, forcing reliance on spot starters like Steven Matz. Cleveland counters with its own absences, including Ben Lively (elbow) and Andrew Walters (lat rehab), though Parker Messick has shone lately (1.05 ERA). Guardians hold a slight recent head-to-head edge (7-3 last 10), but Rays' offense shows momentum post-home opener win; monitor official injury reports and probable pitchers for lineup impacts.
