"Harris is set to formally accept her party's nomination on Thursday." from USATODAY which means she is not the offical nominee

Why is the bet closed ?

hello? what is going on

How do we dispute this? The DNC isn't over

Itsjoeco

8mo ago

Wait, how is this already closed before the DNC? I specifically signed up for Polymarket for this particular bet and had made a pretty decent bet against Kamala making it as the nominee post-DNC. Have funds been paid to winners or is the contract still in escrow?

gsovereignty

Time to DDOS polymarket if they're not going to do anything about the creator of this bet scamming everyone.

How you know?

Badboy

So what happens when Harris is removed come DNC on August 21. Just wondering because according to the original rules, this bet that closed early...

Badboy

Harris is out come August 21. Newsom is making a play.

Who is willing to file lawsuit?

I'd be down

How do we dispute this?

This should not be closed yet

SATOSHI

I dispute this outcome. The DNC has not met and the electors have not voted officially. The resolution shows democrats.org as a source but nowhere does it say on that site that the democrat nominee has been officially chosen. This needs to be reopened until the DNC completes its process and the convention is over.

Hilgi

8mo ago

That is what I was thinking.

@Hilgi

We all need a central.place to file a lawsuit. Anyone wanna hold a a X spaces so we can all join and talk about filing a law suit?

NelsonRodMar

https://rekt.news/hedging-bets/

What does it mean that it says on most of them that it is 'In Review'?

This is absurd. When Hillary get the nomination at the convention I want my money! You think they are really going to run Kamala?

Why is this market closed?

Why is this market closed??? DNC hasn't even been yet

gamer123

The conditions for this market have not explicitly been met. Why was this allowed to close? Nobody thought to check and dispute becuase its pretty clear the convention has not occured.

retar-dio

Dispute: This outcome is dependent on the DNC convention. This market should not be concluded until then. Outcome shouldn't be "No" until DNC convention ends.

Badboy

This should be reopened because Gavin Newsome is gonna be the pick after the convention

WTF... this is bullshit. Polymarket is such a scam.

WTF. The DNC has not confirmed their candidate at the convention. This is obnoxious.

donnarum

Trump answering to a reporter about not campaigning: "Because I'm letting their convention go through". Maybe he didn't get the news from Polymarket that nothing will happen at the convention? https://x.com/_johnnymaga/status/1821617194163225076

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre remarked on Wednesday that the administration is "still working on" the level of United States President Joe Biden's involvement in the upcoming Democratic National Convention (DNC), which is expected to see the official naming of Vice President Kamala Harris as the party's nominee in the 2024 election.

This is absurd!

zubinbets

This should be resolved at the end of the DNC. Whats going on here? Sounds like there needs to be a massive claim against Polygon if they are just stealing peoples money... We need an official explaination.

Class action suit anyone?

donnarum

Here's the proof that Polymarket violated the rules and the outcome has to be disputed: there's a new bet about Biden being reinstated as nominee at the DNC. This implies, by definition, that the nominee is not final, it's still unofficial until the DNC. So Polymarket admitted their mistake. (And no, it doesn't matter how low the chance of another nominee is, a bet is supposed to be based on rules until the end, otherwise it's not a bet). https://polymarket.com/event/joe-biden-reinstated-as-democratic-nominee-at-dnc/joe-biden-reinstated-as-democratic-nominee-at-dnc?tid=1722988974491

It gonna be great when DNC Chicago 24 ends up like DNC Chicago 68 and Kamala gets replaced. How is Polymarket gonna pay the real bet winners?

PajeetsKillsCrypto

such a scam Jeet site. Never using this trash site again. Polymarket rugged everybody what happened with this rule ¿¨¨The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democratic Party sources, including https://democrats.org/. This market was supposed to be closed on 21st of August after the DNC. How do we dispute this?

donnarum

This is a 328 million dollars market. It's a lot, it's a serious crime to close it arbitrarily without any official announcement and two weeks before the convention, and with people still opening positions. The owners or employees must have a conflict of interest, I don't see any other plausible reason for this early closing of the market which is in violation of your own terms. There should be a class action against Polymarket, if it has any legal status.

The delegates voted and she is the nominee what is missing here? Do you think the virtual roll call wasn’t an official vote? They did it to ensure ballot access so what else is there to this?

WTF ! the convention has yet to happen, and it's not official until then. many bets were placed on this because there will be MUCH price action during DNC. total rip off

"The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democratic Party sources, including https://democrats.org/" where is the official announcement???!!

Dispute: This outcome is dependent on the DNC convention. This market should not be concluded until then.

the only way to make this right, would be to create a new bet for who will be the official announcement from the dnc, and offer credits to those who were holding in this market. or even reopen this one, create a new way to make a new, second dispute, to review and reopen. because there's still one final annoucement to really make it official. from the fucking DNC

Outcome: No

Joe Biden
