After a bunched first-round leaderboard at TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course, trader consensus prices Zach Bauchou, Max McGreevy, Matt McCarty, J.T. Poston, Daniel Brown, Ricky Castillo, A.J. Ewart, and David Lipsky around 25% implied win probability, reflecting their strong opening 66s or 67s amid windy conditions that neutralized pre-tournament favorites like Ludvig Aberg (9%) and Tommy Fleetwood (8.1%). These mid-tier contenders surged with elite ball-striking and hot putters on the demanding par-72 layout favoring accuracy over distance, while big names faltered on greens in regulation. Heading into Round 2 on Friday, the tight lead group underscores the field's parity, rest advantages for early starters, and potential for momentum shifts via birdie opportunities on par-5s.
